Access
The International Institute of Americans Studies is located in Kyoto, a city with thousand years of history.
In almost the center of downtown Kyoto, there is the Kyoto Imperial Palace (Kyoto Gosho) where the imperial family lived from 1331 until they moved to Tokyo in 1868. Doshisha University Imdegawa Campus is located in the north of Kyoto Gosho. If you walk further north, there is another campus called Karasuma campus. The international Institute of American Studies is located inside Shikokan Building in Karasuma Campus.
Transportation to the Institute
- From Kyoto Station: Kyoto City Official Subway Map in ENG
- Take a Karasuma Subway line and get off at Imadegawa Station (K06). Exit from the entrance number 3 and Walk for 3 minutes towards north.
- By Hankyu Railway Kyoto Line: Hankyu Railway Official Page
- Get off a train at Karasuma Station (HK85), walk to Shijo (K09) and transfer to Karasuma Subway line. Get off at Imadegawa Station (K06).
- By Keihan Railway: Keihan Railway Official Page
- Get off at Demachi Yanagi Station (no station number...) and walk towards west along the Imdegawa street. You will arrive at Imadegawa and Karasuma street crossing in about 15min, and you will see Doshisha University Imadegawa Campus. Turn right, walk towards north for 5 minutes. You will see a brown blackish pedestrian bridge over passing the Karasuma Street. There is a big brick building next to the pedestrian bridge.
